Dream Last Night

Last night I had a very vivid, very long dream.  It started off as a trip to get water repellent stuff for shoes (Eli had gotten new shoes last night) and became an odd journey.

The first part of the dream that I really remember was I was wandering through a craft fair/show at some community center.  I remember looking at some Buddhist art stuff, and then also saw an Egyptian style beaded curtain that someone was trying to sell me, but couldn't understand that my cat would eat it.

I then go down some stairs, not knowing where they lead.  I ended up in a big room that was hosting some kind of  art class.  The instructor invited me in, she said she knew me from some kind of medical thing.  The art project had something to do with paints and construction paper.  I had a hard time thinking about what I wanted to create, but I finally settled on a candle.  I drew a lit candle, and added the words "Observe the light."  Then after looking at it, I also added, "Observe the dark."  The class ended before I could totally finish, but I took the supplies I needed, got some final instructions from the teacher, and then left.

Then I somehow ended up going through the neighborhood I grew up in til fourth grade.  It wasn't exactly the same--you know how in dreams you know it's different than real life but it somehow is the same?

I came to a playground that was part of the it was sorta the same as my childhood.  There were young kids running around.  I climbed up on the equipment, realized I was too big/old for the slide and didn't want to end up in the water puddle at the end of it, and then got off.  I then see myself standing on the grass right outside the playground area, I was wearing jeans and my red John Smoltz t-shirt, and I'm looking at the playground and wonder if me as a child even entertained the idea that I would never have children.

So yeah.  Very interesting dream to think about.
